October ‘24 astro-weather

We began the month of October with a solar eclipse on the 2nd, in the sign of Libra. At the forefront are relationships. How do we stabilize the relationships we're in? How do we make them more fulfilling? The ruler of the eclipse is Venus in Scorpio, in a beautiful trine with Saturn and Mars. However, we also have a square between Mercury and Mars, which represents challenges, arguments, anger, and communication problems, especially when it comes to topics from the past. The last annular solar eclipse also occurred in Libra on October 14th last year, so, in a way, what this eclipse brings will relate to situations from last October.

What’s most concerning about this solar eclipse is Mars in its fall, not only squaring Mercury and the eclipse itself but also being in the famous "obsessive aspect" of 165 degrees (quindecile) with Pluto. In this story, Mars can bring very problematic behavior, making arguments and manipulation very likely scenarios. Another challenging aspect is the 165 degrees between Uranus and Venus. This tells the story of two lovers, Mars and Venus, who are in love in a trine but realize they aren’t getting what they need from the relationship. Mars is possessive, dredging up the past and argumentative, while Venus seeks excitement, surprises, freedom, and passion. This eclipse in Libra brings all relationship issues to the surface.

After the eclipse, on October 4th, Venus forms a trine with Saturn, bringing a serious look at relationships and a desire for stability. It's interesting to note that this happens right after Venus’s challenging aspect with Uranus. Then, on October 6th, the Mercury-Mars square becomes exact. This depicts conflict, often over trivial and fleeting matters. This aspect can bring unhealthy competition, so try not to waste your energy.

On October 8th, Venus forms an exact trine with Mars, which could easily lead to emotional barriers softening, providing relief after the preceding events. On the same day, Mercury trines Jupiter, bringing a more optimistic atmosphere after the Mercury-Mars square. Now we have the opportunity to see the bigger picture; just be cautious about spreading misinformation and rumors, despite the harmonious aspect.

The very next day, on October 9th, Jupiter turns retrograde, staying so until February 4th, 2025. Expect plans to gradually slow down, and retrograde Jupiter is ideal for reevaluating our goals. What do we really want to achieve? This is a time for refining our aspirations and gaining greater objectivity. While Jupiter is retrograde, it's better to listen more than to speak. In contrast, Pluto will go direct on October 11th. There's been a lot of talk about Pluto's transition into Aquarius, and I just want to note that this doesn’t mark the final arrival of the Aquarian age, which will happen in next few hundred years. In any case, Pluto’s direct motion brings our focus back to our goals.

As Pluto enters Aquarius on November 19th, it will bring back themes that marked last year and the beginning of this one. This could bring a favorable atmosphere, as some uncertainties we faced in life will begin to clear up.

On October 13th, Mercury enters Scorpio, where it will stay until November 2nd. This is the detective Mercury, and it’s wise to use this time for consulting on important matters and thoroughly checking everything that matters to us. Otherwise, this Mercury can bring dark thoughts and fears. On a global and public level, manipulation is always heightened when Mercury is in Scorpio.

On October 13th, we also have a royal aspect, with the Sun in a trine with Jupiter. This aspect brings positivity, relief, and favorable circumstances. However, on the same day, Mercury squares Pluto, so we should remember to control ourselves in communication with others. Otherwise, people can become manipulative, harsh, and exploit others' weaknesses. Pushed by the optimism of Jupiter and the Sun, there may be a desire for domination over others or certain situations, especially since on October 14th, the Sun squares Mars, bringing a competitive spirit and inflated egos. During the days around the 13th and 14th, people may become jealous and compete over trivial matters, which can lead to issues with how we perceive ourselves and others.

On October 14th, there’s also an opposition between Uranus and Venus, bringing a desire for freedom and space, but also sudden mood swings in relationships. Mid-October brings a high likelihood of breakups, not just in romantic relationships but also in business, family, and friendships. If you care about these relationships, practice patience during these days. It's wise to hold off on making final decisions.

On October 15th, Venus forms an exact trine with Neptune, where Neptune is exalted in Venus's sign. After all the previous turmoil, we feel the need for romance, compassion, and most of all, healing. The following few days after October 15th are crucial if you want to improve relationships, whether with others or with yourself.

On the night of October 17th to October 18th (CET), we have a full moon in Aries. This full moon will likely ask you to make a choice about how to move forward: whether to stay or walk away from certain situation. Ruler of the full Moon is Mars, still weak in Cancer, in square to the Moon. This can bring the culmination of accumulated anger or resentment. Mars in Cancer tends to be passive-aggressive, so be aware of anger bursts or irritations. With this full Moon, a healthy outlet is needed, and martial arts and sports rivalries are definitely healthier ways to release all pent-up tension. Another way to use the symbolism of this full moon is to get things done around the house, take initiative and work on independence from the moods and actions of others. October is trying to teach us that our own mood and energy levels shouldn’t depend on other people. Each one of us is responsible for their own well-being.

On October 22nd, we have two exact aspects—Mercury in a trine with Saturn and the Sun in a square with Pluto. Mercury-Saturn brings more objective thinking after all the previous ups and downs. This is a good aspect for focusing on your own work, creating schedules and to-do lists, and it’s not a bad idea to consult with more experienced people. On the other hand, the Sun-Pluto square marks the end of Pluto's stay in Capricorn. This is an aspect of power struggles, so it's wise to be cautious in interactions with others.

On October 28th, Mars trines Neptune in water signs, which is an ideal time to express closeness. It’s a good time to show love to others and give compliments, but keep in mind that this is a highly idealistic aspect, especially since Mars is in Cancer and therefore very weak, not expressing its full strength and nature. That same day, Venus squares Saturn. Venus can’t be playful and happy in a square with Saturn, but on the other hand, this is a good aspect for stopping the unrealistic plans of Mars and Neptune, which, no matter how lovely they seem, will eventually reveal that they lack a solid foundation.

Venus-Saturn slows everything down. This is the aspect of sobering up after all the turbulence of this month because we realize that things aren’t functioning ideally, no matter how much we stress, get angry, or try to be kind to others.

Accompanying this aspect of objectively evaluating relationships is Mercury's opposition to Uranus on October 30th. This is the image of a mind running on nuclear power, and we can’t stop it. Communication and discussions can go in unpredictable directions, and new insight and revelations may come to u. On the other hand, conversations can abruptly end, and communication channels may face difficulties. This also depicts irritation in communication, and caution is advised on the road.

Finally, on October 31st, Mercury forms a trine with Neptune. This aspect reminds us that, at the end of the month, the best way to act is to "go with the flow." Don’t stir up conflict or provoke arguments because this aspect reminds us that any toxicity is not worth our attention, let alone our efforts. This aspect brings intuition into our way of thinking, reminding us that only through inner peace can we progress in life.

October seems to have prepared a grand shadow work for us, putting us through trials only for us to realize that our main guide is our own inner intuition and alignment with universal Love and the laws of the Cosmos, which is essentially the mission of Neptune and Saturn in Pisces, as well as all the water energy (Mars in Cancer, Venus and Mercury in Scorpio) that we have this month. This trine of Mercury and Neptune is extremely favorable for practicing the law of attraction, visualization, creativity, and bringing imaginative projects to life.
